Nike Zegama 1s and Paris Ecotrail | used

I thought I was going to run the 2025 EcoTrail Paris 80k in the Norda 005s but last minute I decided not to because it was raining and as silly as it sounds, I didn’t want to my new 005s that dirty.  So I went for the Zegama 1s that I got for 50% off on Etienne Marcel in Paris.

A great shoe and one that I wouldn’t mind getting irreparably dirty for the price I paid.  My friend Taylor Bodin said I would love the ZoomX foam and that he thought the Zegamas were the perfect shoe for me at any race in the world except for, well, Zegama.

It was a muddy rainy awful day to run 80k – exactly what I wanted.  After living in Paris and running mostly road at the time, I wanted a dirty brutal ultra in the forest where the air smelled like air instead of Paris.

14 months later the mud from that race is still on the shoe.  I can’t bring myself to clean them because that mud is more than just mud.  It’s a reminder that ultras are the solution to just about everything.

I hope the new Zegamas form @acg maintained the spirit of the Zegama 1. Haven’t tried them yet.
