Portal | a trinity of outdoor movement

Portal | run, hike, cycle

Portal’s June 2025 Showroom felt like a full installation rather than a display. The brand stretches across what most would consider the trinity of outdoor movement: Running, Hiking, and Cycling. It’s an effortless stretch as the earthy tones of Portal’s newest collection blend together to create one holistic experience.

Core & Specialized: Portals New Collection

Although the brand launched its first collection earlier this year, Portal feels mature and foundational. Rather than a few pieces here and there, they’ve created systems that each piece ladders up to.

At the top you get a functioning unit.

With the new collection we previewed, Portal has expanded upon just the basics and introduced more activity-specific pieces. For the run line, we see an expansion into different cuts and garments for more climates.

We previewed a split short and cut off tee that will certainly perform well in the hotter months. The split shorts encourage easy of leg movement and airflow.

On top, Portal introduced some lightweight layering, inclusive of merino bases, lightweight shells and a gilet, and a brand new Gore-Texshell built for fast movement.

From Toques to Vests: Portal’s Accessories

Accessories were a big highlight.

Those who love their basics will appreciate the wool line up that features a toque, buff, gloves, arm sleeves, and basic layers all in black or deep olive colorways.

New on the line is a hydration vest that isn’t overbuilt and complicated and shaped to the contours of the torso.

If you follow co-founder Patrick Stangbye [read our article on Stangbye’s Zara collab] on Instagram, you probably have seen him rocking the vest as he puts in huge days in Chamonix. I’d be remiss to not mention the belt pack that, although not new, will see some updated colorways.

The belt is designed to put very little pressure on the stomach and place most of the bearing towards the hips. With the ability to hold around a liter of storage, one could take the belt to faraway placeswith all-day comfort.

Found all over Portal’s new line is their eye-catching logo: a blossoming flower shape that also doubles as a Strava heatmap.

This logo, while beautiful and a standout, also captures the brand ethos that Colin Meredith, a co-founder and designer, so aptly put: “We want a kit for being outside.”
