The Long Trail is the centerpiece of Worlds: 82 kilometers, 5,400 meters of climbing, and national teams chasing medals on one of the toughest courses in the Pyrenees. For the U.S., it’s the race everyone circled, with Jim Walmsley, Adam Peterman, Katie Schide, and more lining up.
This is where the team format matters most. It won’t be decided by one star. It’ll come down to the second and third Americans across the line, and whether they can keep pace with the other top federations.
