The Rocker by Satisy Running came out to much fanfare after a months long clinic in building anticipation. Satisfy knows how to get attention, keep it, leverage it into community building, and sell products.
From everything I’ve seen in person, the Satisfy community is built on a genuine love of running a people. Regardless of how you feel about Satisfy, it’s impossible to deny its impact on the sport.
Great brands require that others negotiate them – like walking along a narrow sidewalk in Paris behind someone with a stroller. You have to account for it and decide what you’re going to do. Walk around it? Cross the street? Surrender and walk slowly? One thing you’re not doing is ignoring it.
That’s Satisfy.
Inky and Josh have been doing episodes where they compare trail running shoes to cult classic movies and, to them, the Rocker, and more accurately Satisfy Running, is like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
It’s the pursuit of the American Dream with the backdrop of the American West. Desert dirtbag vibes.
So how does it perform?
Inky breaks that down some but this ain’t that type of episode. Believe in the Run is more satisfying for content like that.
We’d both wear these shoes on the trail and around town. It’s probably not our first shoe for a 100 miler, but that’s ok. To optimize for a 100 miler is to overbuild for its core users.
