Can I Really Run 100 Miles? [Trail Grit, ep 3]

Leading up to the Zion 100 Miler in early 2024, I needed as much wisdom as possible.  I had ran 9 100 milers at this point and DNFed 8 of them.

The 100 mile effort still burned in my heart but I had very little proof that I could do it again.

So I set out to talk to as many wise runners as possible and aggregated a few of the highlights in episode 3 of Trail Grit.

  • 01:50 Elsa Jaworski – Co-founder of Women of the Wasatch, Tahoe 200 finisher
  • 05:30 Jeremy Cox – 3 100 mile finishes – subject of our DFL Before DNF doc
  • 09:58 Dylan Bowman – Co-founder of Freetrail, 12 of 13 100 mile finishes
  • 14:47 Matthew Johnson – Intense strength training for ultra marathons
  • 18:33 Jesse Rich – Ultra-running Nutritionist, winner of Wasatch 100
  • 21:54 Michael Whiteside – Wasatch 100 to Bear 100, 3 weeks rest
  • 21:15 Anthony Costales – Nike elite runner, PE teacher, 3rd at WSER
  • 30:34 Tamar Hicks – Running mechanics
